“How dare you!” said the Theta Healer…

One of the comments that we hear all too often in response to our critical investigation and exposure of Theta Healing is this:

“Theta Healing worked for me!  It’s wonderful!  Vianna is a wonderful loving person – how dare you speak/write badly of her.  You must be full of hate.  I feel sorry for you.”  ..and so forth.

It’s such an easy response that likens to nothing short of a cop-out.  When you give a response like this, you provide absolutely NO counter argument to the facts that are being exposed.  You do nothing to improve any credibility that Theta Healing (or Vianna) might have.  And you do absolutely nothing to prove that Theta Healing works.

If you feel that the facts and information that we are posting on this site are wrong and feel the need to tell us why – please – by all means, do so.  However, if you’re going to do that, give us some solid reasons why you think so.  Provide us with some facts to the contrary.  Provide us with the facts on why Theta Healing works.  Show us the proof that Vianna “grew back” a six inch section of her femur.  Show us the proof that she’s cured HIV/AIDS and Cancer.  Provide us with the proof that she can teleport and walk through walls.  Because if you’re going to try and make an argument for a modality and person that professes such feats of impossibility – you have to provide some proof.  Anything short of that, and you’re merely an accomplice to the lie and a participant in the fraud.

Cut the Green Wire? Or the Red Wire?

In the video below, you will find a fascinating TED talk from an ex-member of the Moonie cult.  In our opinion, the talk itself is far too brief to really delve into the deeper societal and psychological damage done by cults and groups of the like.  However, it does touch on some of the reasons why people get seduced by, and further involved with groups like The Moonies or Heaven’s Gate or the idea of Theta Healing.

It’s a quick watch.  And well worth your time.

Heaven’s Gate versus ThetaHealing

We have to give credit where credit is due.

In the post you are about to read, Lindsey had originally taken the time to draw the correlations that exist between Theta Healing and the notorious Heaven’s Gate cult, which tragically claimed the lives of 39 people in 1997 in San Diego.  As you will find, the comments made from members of both groups are disturbingly similar.   These parallels are not merely coincidence.  They are the statements made by members of cults.

♦ On March 26, 1997, near San Diego, CA, Marshall Applewhite led his followers of Heaven’s Gate® to their deaths, via suicide. They believed that the world as we know it was about to be “recycled” to start over and make way for a new civilization. When the Hale Bopp comet got closer to Earth, they took it as a sign that it was time to leave their “vessels” (bodies) and move on to the Next Level. While preparing for their eventual ‘turning in of their vessels’ (their bodies), they spread the word to others and chronicled their journey, which included their final words on video- later released to the media. 39 people took their lives that day, but there are still followers of this cult even today. ♦ In 1995, after allegedly being diagnosed with cancer, Vianna Stibal purported to heal that cancer instantly and spontaneously. From there she created a technique called Orian, later named ThetaHealing™. Vianna claims that using this technique that you can heal anything- mentally, physically, emotionally as well as inanimate objects. Members are taught that through her series of classes that you can receive a Doctorate of ThetaHealing, and that in one of her ‘upper’ classes, you can learn to walk through walls and refill liquids. All are taught that healings are instantaneous and, if they’re not, then you must do “Belief Work” to fix your personal blocks. To date, ThetaHealing reports members in the thousands throughout several different countries.

Science 101

We have recently been made aware of another excellent article on Theta Healing.   This one comes from Dr. Doug DeSalles M.D. on the website:  Sacramento Men’s Health.

In the article, Dr. DeSalles does an excellent job of picking apart the core tenets of Theta Healing and illustrating the fallacies of nearly every claim made by Vianna Stibal and the supporters of Theta Healing.   On top of that, he goes on to point out how putting faith in something like Theta Healing is not only risky, but can quite literally be deadly.

We urge you to read through this well written and articulate article and assess the facts for yourself.

In Case You Missed It…

Last year the BBC did a feature on Vianna and Theta Healing while they were visiting and promoting in London at the time.  This video has been difficult to find on YouTube for some time now, though fairly easy to find on the BBC website.

And even easier to find now that we’ve supplied a link here on this blog.

Please read the story and watch the video.  Especially the part where Guy attacks the reporter and his camera man for simply wanting to ask Vianna a couple of questions.

Ask yourself:  If Theta Healing works so well, why do the people who promote it and profit from it refuse to ever back it up with measurable evidence?  Why won’t they ever prove that it works?  And why is it that anyone who questions the validity of Theta Healing gets attacked and bullied (usually through threats and litigation, though sometimes physically as evidenced by this video) into submission and silence?
